The WP Glob team was at the WordCamp Europe 2026 in Kraków Poland, and as an anticipated event in the WordPress ecosystem, it was made even more memorable by the beauty and atmosphere of the city itself. Overall WordCamp Europe 2026 left a strong impression on us once again, as there were thousands of professionals throughout the worldwide WordPress community in attendance, creating an environment of excitement and inspiration, as well as numerous opportunities to re-establish relationships with long-time partners and to connect with many new people in our ecosystem.

We had the chance to hold productive discussions at the event with many members of the WordPress community, including plugin creators, marketing professionals, agency owners, hosting providers and product teams. These conversations included various subjects such as how to grow products and market them as well as how WordPress users’ and businesses’ needs have changed over time.

These conversations continued to inspire us to look beyond these conversations and conduct a short survey with those who attended in order to learn more about the trends, challenges, and opportunities affecting the WordPress community today.
Thank You To The Organizers
We are very thankful to Angelos Synadakis, Francesco Di Candia, and Ivelina Dimova, the organizers of WordCamp Europe 2026. A lot of effort was put into making this event happen and for providing us with such an incredible experience.

Everything ran very well at the event (venue arrangement, logistics, etc.), so that everything went smoothly for the attendees. Each detail was thought through to make sure all attendees had a pleasant experience.
There was a strong focus on providing opportunities for networking. This allowed for easy access to other professionals in the field, sharing ideas and developing long-lasting relationships with each other within the WordPress community. This combined with the warm, collaborative environment contributed to an overall attendee experience that exemplifies the spirit of WordCamp.
Survey
This year’s WordCamp Europe held numerous opportunities to meet fellow professionals from numerous facets of the WordPress ecosystem. These included Plugin Companies, Hosting Companies, SaaS Companies, Agencies and Product Development Teams.
We took advantage of this opportunity to ask attendees four easy questions about some of the issues currently shaping WordPress businesses and provide a look at how the industry is doing. The questions are designed to gain insight into several areas affecting professionals across the WordPress ecosystem; however, the information should not be considered an official research project.

The questions focused on how AI has impacted business, overall the health of businesses, which will be the most profitable marketing channels in 2026 and why professionals are choosing to attend community events like WordCamp Europe.
Question #1: How Has AI Impacted Your Business?

As we assess the results of the study, we see that AI is clearly making an impact on the WordPress ecosystem. Most respondents reported increased visibility as well as positive impact.
Respondents also indicated that they see improved efficiency through AI-enhanced search and recommendations, while others reported experiencing increased business opportunity as a result of an increase in available AI-enabled products and services. On the other hand, several participants stated that, due to the ever-evolving nature of AI, the impact is negative or even limited.
Question #2: Compared to Last Year, Is Your Business Growing, Declining, or Staying Stable?

The general opinion of respondents was that they feel their business has been growing compared to last year, indicating that many different sectors of the WordPress industry continue to exhibit strong growth. Only a couple of companies reported their business performance has been the same as last year. None of the participants mentioned decline in their business. Overall, there is an optimistic and healthy outlook from all of these businesses in the WordPress ecosystem.
Question #3: What Is Your Most Effective Marketing Channel Right Now?

Overall, these responses illustrate how organic and relationship-based marketing strategies are still critical. A lot of responses referenced SEO as being one of the top channels reflecting the importance of search visibility as a major driver for many WordPress businesses.
There were also multiple mentions of LinkedIn for B2B-focused businesses as a channel. Referrals and word-of-mouth are still very effective channels for acquiring new customers. Other channels like Outreach, Affiliate Marketing, Influencer, and Events continue to show strong results depending on the type of business model.
Question #4: What Are You Hoping to Get from WordCamp Europe This Year?

Networking was by far the most common reason participants attended WordCamp Europe 2026. Many respondents viewed the event as an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and build new partnerships within the WordPress community.

Beyond networking, attendees were also looking to increase brand visibility, connect with potential clients, gather feedback, and gain valuable insights into industry trends. The results reinforce the importance of WordCamp Europe as both a community gathering and a business development opportunity.

Conclusion
The discussions we had at WordCamp Europe 2026 gave us an important research point when it comes to understanding where things are today within the WordPress industry as a whole. Each individual business has its own unique set of opportunities and challenges, but through conversations across the board several overarching themes came to the forefront from the survey results.
Artificial intelligence is having an impact on most of the WordPress businesses that were surveyed with many using AI for a variety of different reasons regardless of the business type, market segment or business model. Some of these companies are finding that they are able to leverage AI as a means for creating new opportunities, improving their efficiency and even changing the way that customers are able to find their products/services.
With respect to the overall outlook for business, the feedback we received from most of the respondents was positive with most noting their business had grown when compared to the same point last year indicating an ongoing level of confidence in the WordPress ecosystem and the overall digital marketplace.
Lastly, there seemed to be one major theme expressed throughout almost every discussion; it was the importance of building relationships. Some of the key characteristics that defined the relationships built throughout WordCamp Europe included networking, partnerships, sharing knowledge and developing community connections, which will be critical for the ongoing growth that many WordPress companies are experiencing.
